Dan Biggar says team success means more than individual recognition
Wales fly half Dan Biggar insists he would swap his RaboDirect PRO12 Players' Player of the Year award for a play-off place with the Ospreys.
Biggar was voted the league's best player by his peers having finished as the PRO12's top points scorer for the third time in four seasons.
The 24-year-old became the first Welshman to win the award but he would much rather have been preparing for a semi-final tie this weekend.
"It's nice to have an award but I certainly would have traded that award for a place in the semi-final or final," said Biggar, who followed former Osprey Tommy Bowe, Springbok star Ruan Piennar, Scotland wing Tim Visser and Ulster No8 Nick Williams in receiving the honour.
"It is very, very humbling to be fair because the league which we play in is full of superstars of the game, but there is a disappointment that we didn't get into that top four as a team.
"We've got a great pack which allows me to work behind a bit of a platform and keep the scoreboard ticking over, but we've lacked any consistency in the team and we haven't had any momentum."

Steve Tandy's troops were beaten 30-27 in Parma but they scored six tries against their Irish visitors to bounce back in style in Swansea on Saturday.
Victory couldn't resurrect their play-off aspirations but it did at least ensure that Wales lock Ian Evans leaves the region on a mini high as he gets set to head to Toulon this summer.
"It was emotional. It was nice to finish with a win," said Evans, who is convinced good times lie ahead for the Ospreys. "I've had 10 years with the region and started playing professional rugby with the Ospreys and I've developed my game through them.
"I'll miss the banter and the boys. It's a good bunch of lads down here and there's a good sense of camaraderie.
"I'm think I'm leaving the Ospreys in good stead. It's only healthy in Wales with all these young players coming through and getting game time. I think it's a healthy state."
