With Davies fully fit he rejoins Jamie Roberts in midfield and Hook moves back to fly-half and he is looking forward to the challenge Ireland will pose on the weekend.
"Obviously against Italy I played in the centre and enjoyed that game but I am really glad to be back in the number ten jersey now," said Hook
"There was an injury in the centre and I can play there and with Stephen Jones in the squad it was a no brainer to move me across but now I am just thankful I have got another go at fly-half and can't wait for Saturday.
"At fly-half I can get my hands on the ball more and I love playing.
"At full-back and centre you maybe don't touch the ball as much and when you do, you may try and force it a little to try and make things happen but at ten you touch the ball so many times, things come a lot more naturally.
"We got two good wins against Scotland and Italy but against Ireland it is going to be a very different game and they have so much experience in their squad.
"They have a great squad but we have the confidence from the recent victories and we are really looking forward to the challenge."
