WRU PUTS UP THE 'SOLD OUT' SIGNS

By Roland Mercer
The New Zealand game was already sold out before tickets went on public sale.

It means the games between the RBS Six Nations champions and the three Tri-Nations teams, the All Blacks, Springboks and Wallabies, will be played out in front of capacity 74,000 gates at the Millennium Stadium next month. And with tickets for the match against 2007 Rugby World Cup opponents Fiji, also now on sale, it means more tickets have already been sold for this year's November Tests than were sold last season when a record 221,158 watched the matches against South Africa, Romania, New Zealand and Japan.

"There has been a staggering demand to see Wales play in the Autumn Series and it was no surprise to see the final few thousand tickets for the games against South Africa and Australia sell-out so quickly," said WRU chief executive Steve Lewis. "The only tickets now left for the games against the Tri-Nations teams are the 300 WRU 125 Anniversary Debenture seats that remain unsold. With seven mouth-watering home fixtures this season, and the three games already sold out next month, they look better value than ever.

"We deliberately kept the prices low for our Friday night fixture with the Fijians so that mums and dads could bring their children to watch the Six Nations champions in action. In many ways, that fixture is even more important than the others next month because Fiji are in our World Cup Pool in 2007.

"While there are still tickets left for Fiji , the signs are that it won't be long before we have to put up the 'sold out' signs for that game as well. The message to everyone has to be buy your tickets now."

Tickets can be purchased by phone on 08705 582 582 or online via the Ticketmaster website www.ticketmaster.co.uk.

PLEASE NOTE THAT NO TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR SALE TO PERSONAL CALLERS AT THE MILLENNIUM STADIUM BOX OFFICE ON ST MARY STREET.

For information on purchasing a debenture, contact the WRU debenture office by phone on 029 2082 2431 or email debenture@wru.co.uk.

There is also limited availability for Official WRU Corporate Hospitality for the 2005 Autumn Series. Hospitality packages are highly competitively priced, starting at £99 + vat, and offer some of the best seats in the house. For information on Official WRU Corporate Hospitality, contact the WRU commercial department on 029 2082 2410 / 2411 / 2413 or e-mail corporatehospitality@wru.co.uk.

"It is vital that anyone who wants to get their hands on one of the few remaining tickets does so via official sources. The new hard-line ticketing policy we issued to all our clubs last month has been set-up not only to protect our customers, but also to try to stop the black market ticket touts making a handsome profit from our game," added Lewis. "The message is not to buy tickets from touts, auction websites or unofficial hospitality companies because that could lead to huge disappointment, loss of money and even ejection from the ground. You could end up paying over face value for these tickets when you can get some of the best seats in the house with official Millennium Stadium hospitality for a very reasonable rate."
