As Wales prepare for an exciting RBS 6 Nations kicking off at the Millennium Stadium against Italy next week, clubs are being asked to predict the total points scored by Wales across the tournament as the twice-reigning champions go for an historic three Six Nations wins on the bounce.
Clubs can enter the 'Win a Scoreboard' competition online until midnight on 31 January at www.wru.co.uk/jointhebeat/competition
The winner will be drawn from the correct entries and in the event of no correct admissions the closest prediction will win.
The successful club is guaranteed to stand out from the crowd with a cutting-edge Millennium Stadium scoreboard including cost-efficient LED technology to display the points scored by the home and away team as well as a clock.
Clubs must ensure they can accommodate the new system, which is 1372mm high x 4877mm wide with a weight of 91kg, before applying.
The WRU directly contributed £4million to the club game in Wales in 2013, with the majority generated by international rugby and the Millennium Stadium.
The new initiative is another example of the business operating sustainably and provides rugby fans with the chance to access the best equipment to grow the game of rugby in Wales.
Millennium Stadium Manager Mark Williams said: "The fantastic big screen technology at the Millennium Stadium means that we no longer require an additional scoreboard for Welsh rugby internationals and so it makes perfect sense to offer this to WRU clubs.
"The new competition on the WRU website is a great opportunity for rugby clubs to own their very own piece of Welsh rugby history and also helps the stadium to operate in a sustainable manner, keeping waste and its associated costs to a minimum at all times."
In previous seasons the Millennium Stadium has recycled Wales' home turf at community clubs in Wales. Clubs can find out about other initiatives via www.wru.co.uk/jointhebeat
WRU Head of Group Compliance Julie Paterson added: "We want everyone involved in the community game to take full advantage of the support available from the WRU. In Club Operations we've an excellent team in place to help with anything from access to funding to the recruitment of volunteers and we're always on the look-out for extra occasions when we can work together to support the clubs. The opportunity to win a scoreboard is one of these unique opportunities and I urge WRU clubs to get involved not to miss out on the chance of owning the Millennium Stadium scoreboard at their home ground."
