This allowed the newly formed back row of Lowri Morgan, Angharad Williams and Natalie Walsh to rampage around the field. It was Walsh who popped up to crash over for the first try after scrum half Emma Summons had taken a quick tap and fed the ever alert Walsh, this was well converted from wide out by full back Catherine Davies.
The next score was one for the pack and after a strike against the head Williams controlled well at the base and after a series of drives from Sara Davies and Aimee Jones, Norris took the final pop and powered over in the corner to score.
The backs were not to be out done, and with the new centre pairing of Rachel Finnan and player of the match Helen Price looking very sharp and wingers Cerise Moyle and debutant Sara Davies looking for work it wasn't long before they carved open the Blaenau defence.
Quickly recycled ball was moved swiftly along and Price sliced through the centre to give the scoring pass to outside half and new skipper Alice James.
Some super defence by Blaenau kept the Borderettes out for the rest of the half. With the elements in their favour in the second half Blaenau had their chances to attack but the Borderettes defence held firm.
Subs Cath Jones, Dee Evans and Georgi Sturgess joined the defensive effort in the second half but it was the Borderettes who were to score first with their only excursion into the opposition half, a turnover resulted in Summons, James, Davies and Price shipping the ball wide for Finnan to slide in at the corner. With the game almost over a lapse in the Whitland defence Blaenau neatly worked an overlap for the right winger to touch down wide out.
