At The Gnoll, chasers Neath easily dispatched strugglers Newport 36-16. Flanker and captain Gareth Grabell, wing Kevin James, hooker Ashley James and centre Nathan Brown all touched down before replacement fly-half Gareth McCarthy put the gloss on a convincing team performance with two late tries of his own.
Newly-promoted Bridgend made a fast start to a thrilling triumph over Swansea, stealing two tries in the opening minutes. Wing Luke Morgan darted through the Whites defence for the first of a scintillating hat-trick, before lock Matthew Dwyer and debutant full-back Jamie Murphy crossed the whitewash for the Ravens. The visitors hit back through wings Nicky Thomas and Eli Walker, fly-half James Dickson and hooker Paul John but it was not enough as they slipped to a 39-33 defeat.
Elsewhere Pontypridd ground out a 25-20 victory over Pontypool, Cross Keys edged Carmarthen Quins 10-7 and Llandovery stole a 29-25 win against Aberavon thanks to a Neil Aiono interception try four minutes into added time.
