Sport has played a major part in Evans's life. She has represented her country at three different sports at the Commonwealth Games - judo, weightlifting and wrestling.
She is a former Welsh Champion in Judo and claim silver medals in both the 1994 and 1998 Commonwealth Games. Evans was the 2000 Welsh Champion in Weightlifting and represented Wales in the 2002 Commonwealth Games in that discipline. She was the first woman to represent her country in two different sports.
If that wasn't enough, Evans then turned her attentions to wrestling where she was a silver medallist in the 2010 British Championship and was crowned Welsh Open and Irish Open Champion in the same year before representing Wales in the Commonwealth Games where she just missed out on a medal, finishing fourth.
"This honour is richly deserved for a player whose record at the highest level is simply outstanding," said WRU Group Chief Executive Roger Lewis. "Non has also had to overcome serious injuries along the way to achieve what she has which makes her achievements even more remarkable.
"Her performances for Wales, and in particular, her try scoring prowess, have done a huge amount to promote women's rugby."
