"The boys took to it like ducks to water and we really enjoyed it," said Williams.
"I've done a fair bit of snowboarding in my time and I've been out in the Gower quite a bit, which is a great place to surf, but getting up on some real authentic Aussie waves was an experience.
"Australia is the home of surfing so there was no better way to get a taste for life in the country before we got down to the hard work of rugby training."
The squad received a course of surfing instruction in a bid to get over jet lag on arrival in Terrigal.
