The vocal crowd had to wait twenty-nine minutes before the deadlock was broken, when Thomas sliced through the Scottish centre, after being camped in Scotland's 22 for quite some time. She touched down under the posts and then duly converted her own effort.
It was ten minutes into the second half before Thomas clocked up another score, with a penalty kick to make it 10-0. Wales then pushed hard into the Scottish half and were nearly rewarded with a try when Rachel Poolman went over, only to be disallowed by an earlier knock on.
Forwards coach, Jason Lewis, commented, "Our girls performed fantastically, especially in these conditions, which suited the Scottish style of play.
"We controlled the game and had the weather been better I feel we could have scored more points. The team showed massive commitment and dedication to the task and this kind of performance sets us up well for our trip to France."
Wales take a rest next weekend before they travel to France to face their toughest challenge of the tournament so far. They meet France at Stade Guy Moquet à Dracy in Paris on Saturday the 24th of February (kick-off 1.30pm) and hope to repeat the success of last year's encounter with a Welsh win.
