Danny Ellis bagged two penalties for the Dragons, but the hosts never recovered from a lethargic start and gave themselves too much to do in the second period.
The Blues and Scarlets shared 52 points at the Leckwith Stadium with both sides dropping a goal in injury time to round off an outstanding 26-26 share. Luke Fear and Jake Thomas scored tries for the Blues with Joe Deacon adding two conversions, two penalties and a drop goal.
However, hero of the hour for the Blues was inside centre Phil Williams who dropped a goal 30 second from time to clinch a point for the hosts. David Zangouras, Jason Harris and a penalty try put the Scarlets in front in the second half with Daniel Etteridge adding a conversion, two penalties and a drop goaol which looked to be enough. However, Williams stepped up to earn the Blues a point in an outstanding contest.
