Wales were celebrating an impressive win for the Neath-Swansea Ospreys over Munster at St Helens last night. Despite the fact the Irish province were without a number of top stars, a win over Munster is a result always to be applauded, and the Ospreys will be boosted by this performance.
The visitors were without eleven of their well known names- there was no Ronan O'Gara, Peter Stringer, Rob Henderson, Marcus Horan, Frankie Sheahan, John Hayes, Donnacha O'Callaghan, Paul O'Connell, Alan Quinlan, Anthony Foley or David Wallace, but take nothing away from Lyn Jones side who looked accomplished and ready for the fight.
The home forwards were all over their opponents, and that was reflected in the 20-0 leaf they took into the half time break. And that proved too much Munster to claw back- although they did make a fist of it.
Former All Black Christian Cullen bagged a second-half brace, but when Lyndon Bateman scored an injury time bonus point grabbing try for the home side the game was up.
