Lead singer Michael Stipe and the band that brought us 'Shiny Happy People', 'Everybody Hurts' and 'Losing My Religion' will visit Wales' National ground - which has a growing reputation as a top class multi-event venue - on Sunday 10th July 2005; and Stadium bosses have been amazed by the quick response from fans.
'REM are certainly the hottest ticket in town at the moment,' said Millennium Stadium ticket office manager David Bowman. 'The hotlines opened at 9am on Saturday morning and by first count today (Monday) 10,500 tickets had gone, which is an amazing response showing just what a great band we have coming to town.'
REM join a growing list of top class acts to grace the Millennium Stadium which includes The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Robbie Williams, Tina Turner, John Bon Jovi and Welsh superstars The Manic Street Preachers, Tom Jones and the Stereophonics.
