Gareth Jenkins could only watch from the sidelines as his Scarlets slipped to a second straight Celtic League defeat. Jenkins had stated in the build up to this match that there was "no room for error", and he would have been disappointed as his side failed to register a score against Chris Anderson's Dragons.
The scoreboard operator may have been untroubled by the Scarlets efforts but the match officials were made to work when both Scott Quinnell and Gavin Thomas were sent to the sin bin in the second period. It was the boot of Ceri Sweeney that was responsible for all the points in this match. The Dragons are still unbeaten in the Celtic League at Rodney Parade, but this was not a convincing performance despite a well organised defensive display.
The Scarlets are going to have to go back to the drawing board after looking devoid of attacking ideas, for the Dragons this was a promising performance after their loss to the Blues last weekend.
