'We knew there was going to be a huge demand from the Welsh public for tickets to see the game at Old Trafford - and we also knew there was going to be no way to satisfy that demand,' said Millennium Stadium general manager Paul Sergeant. 'Wales are one of the best supported football nations in the World and that's why we decided to throw a party at the Millennium Stadium.
'Anyone who can't make it to Manchester can join us in Cardiff and watch on the largest inflatable screen they will have ever seen. There will be 6,500 Welsh fans at Old Trafford, but Hughes, Ryan Giggs, John Hartson, Gary Speed and co. would also take heart from the knowledge that there will be tens of thousands of ardent supporters back home cheering them on from the Millennium Stadium stands.'
The Millennium Stadium family fun day will feature the England versus Wales game on a gigantic screen and the two existing big screens in the ground. There will be food and drink at high street prices, with the first 1,000 adults receiving a free pint from Carling and the first 1,000 children getting a free Yorkie bar, courtesy of Stadium sponsors Nestle.
For just £2 an adult ticket and £1 for children selected fans will also be able to take penalties on the pitch and compete in the 'cross bar challenge' and 'free kick' competitions, doors open at 2pm with a wide spectrum of entertainment planned throughout the day.
Tickets are available from the Millennium Stadium ticket office at 98 St Mary Street or from the ground on the day.
