The Blues failed to record a victory against the Gwent region last term, and Young sees the ten-point triumph as the perfect tonic as the season begins in get into full swing.

And Young commented on the importance he places on the work of the forwards during his side's win.
"Once again our scrum was comfortable, we also did well in the lineouts and loose, while our defence stood up to the expected early battering from their forwards close to the set-pieces.'
The Blues have had problems in their pack in the past couple of seasons, a problem that former Wales captain has sought to redress with the signatures of many of the famed Warriors pack.
Special mention was give to prop Gethin Jenkins. He created both Blues tries when he twice charged kicks from former Warriors team-mate and international compadre Ceri Sweeney.
And former Wales front row man Chris Anthony found himself outclassed in the scrum by Jenkins as the Blues pack turned the screw in a hard-fought win.
