The Central backs took charge seven minutes later with Sian Parry taking advantage of an overlap and running in from the half way line. Paula Mullen converted to take the score to 12-0.
Central continued to dominate the game but were held in check by fierce East tackling until the dying minutes of the first half when Emma Phillips crossed twice in quick succession. Mullen converted one of the tries to increase the score to 24-0.
The second half saw a rejuvenated East take the reins. They applied the pressure and were rewarded quickly when confusion in the Central ranks allowed Philippa Tuttiet to capitalise and run over for the first East points of the evening. Stacey Saunders slotted over the conversion and added a further three points halfway through the half to narrow Central's lead to 24-10.
On the hour mark, Central engaged their firepower with Gemma Williams and Non Evans combining to bag one apiece and Mullen adding two points. A further two tries were added by Centre Cheryl Tyler who showed an eye for a gap despite some powerful East defence. Mullen converted once to bring the final score to 48-10.
