Captain Easterby is still recovering from a back problem that forced him to miss their defeats to the Ospreys and Dragons while Quinnell took a heavy blow to his shoulder during last weekend's loss at Rodney Parade. Peel and Bowen also missed that games with ankles injuries while Phillips took a knock to his calf and Thomas has come down with an untimely stomach bug.
The problems could not have come at a worse time for the Scarlets who are desperate to bounce back from successive defeats to Welsh rivals. Director of rugby Gareth Jenkins said: 'It is frustrating not to have a full selection available but the league season is based on seven months of rugby and every club will go through periods when they do not have a full crew.
'This is obviously our time but we are adamant not to make that an excuse. The simple truth is that we have not performed anywhere near to where we want to be.'
Edinburgh will travel to Stradey Park equally in need of a moral boosting win following narrow defeats to Ulster, 17-16, and 12-10 to rivals Glasgow last weekend.
