Lloyd celebrated his wedding the day before making his Wales debut as a replacement for Huw Bennett against the Barbarians in June 2011.
A native of Panteg, Lloyd played for Principality Premiership outfit Cross Keys before getting a chance with Newport Gwent Dragons while still gainfully employed as a bricklayer.
With his all-action confrontational style, he has been compared to Newport cult-hero Mike ‘Spikey’ Watkins. The former No 8 has also represented Wales when he was 16.
