Hooker Ken Owens, a member of the Scarlets Academy, made sixteen appearances for the Llanelli Scarlets over the course of the 2006–2007 season. He attained one try in these games, against the Border Reivers in the Magners League in April 2007 in which he came on as a replacement.
Owens represented Wales at U19 level during the five match 'Grand Slam' winning streak of the 2005–2006 season. In February 2007 he lined up as a member of the newly formed Wales U20 side for the 2007 U21 Six Nations; Owens scored a try in Wales's opening round defeat to Ireland.
