Kevin Morgan, having gained caps for Wales at U19 and U21 levels, Wales Youth and Wales A teams, made his Wales debut in July 1997 against the USA.
Morgan started his domestic career at Pontypridd, followed by periods at Swansea and the Celtic Warriors, before joining the Newport-Gwent Dragons in the summer of 2004.
He has produced recent scintillating try-scoring appearances at domestic level; he was the Celtic League’s top try scorer in 2004–2005, and scored nine tries for his club during the 2006–2007 season.
Morgan missed the 2004 RBS Six Nations with a broken foot, but was one of the stars of the 2005 Grand Slam campaign, scoring the historic match-winning try against Ireland in the 32-20 win.
He secured a place in the squad for the 2006 Invesco Perpetual Series and appeared in the 29-all draw with Australia. He was the sole remaining figure of the starting line-up from this game to face the Pacific Islands in the next match of the series. He gained a try in Wales's 38-20 victory over the Pacific Islanders and represented Wales in the loss to the All Blacks in the final match of the Series.
Morgan was included in Wales's 2007 RBS Six Nations squad; he made appearances against Ireland and Scotland but fractured his jaw in the latter game, needing an operation in which a plate was inserted into his jawbone. Despite this he played in the Italy clash just four weeks later and in the last game of the tournament, the 27-18 victory over England.
Morgan was named in Gareth Jenkins's 41-man preliminary Rugby World Cup 2007 summer training squad in June, having been rested from the tour to Australia. August saw Morgan included in the final thirty man cut, he also played in both Invesco Perpetual Summer Series matches.
Morgan gained three caps at the Rugby World Cup for Wales; he played in the Pool B opener against Canada, made a replacement appearance in the loss to Australia in Cardiff and scored a try in the heavy defeat of Japan.
