Wales's first clash against the Springboks came on 1st December 1906, when Wales hosted South Africa at St Helen's.
The first touring side from South Africa to ever play Wales in Wales produced a performance of grit, power and determination that set the benchmark and style for future clashes between the two countries.
Coming at the end of the golden era in Wales a talented but ageing Welsh team had no answers to three Springbok tries from Steve Joubert, Bob Loubser and Klondyke Raaff and Wales went down 0-11.
