"It's been a very physical Six Nations campaign and it's taken its toll on the squad," he said.
"We've lost Thomas Young to a shoulder injury but we've got good cover in Dan Thomas. Both these players are very talented No 7's and they are battling it out for the jersey. This game gives Dan another opportunity to hold his hand up for World Cup selection."
Scarlets hooker Kirby Myhill returns to the starting line up and is reinstated as captain.
"Ellis Jenkins has an injury to his lower leg which is a blow to us. He did a great job as captain against Italy but again it provides an opportunity for Ieuan Jones," Wilson added.
"At tighthead we've given Samson game opportunity so we can look at him a bit more, Kirby is back after he was released back to the Scarlets last week, there's no change at second row which is pleasing as this is an area we are particularly light in, we've brought in lock Carwyn Jones from the Scarlets region to provide second row cover."
"Jonathan Evans did a great job at scrum half when he came off the bench, whilst we have opted for Owen Williams at 12 and Luke Williams at 13 to give us the chance to look at both these players more.
"As I've said previously, we're rotating this squad to ensure we, as a management team, get to look at all players with the view to the World Cup. We want to ensure we take the best players, bearing in mind there will be another 12 players that will be available for selection for the World Cup that were not for this campaign.
"It's important that the players involved in this squad all get a fair crack and enough playing time to showcase their capabilities."
Man of the Match Dan Baker retains his starting spot after impressing against Italy. "We were really pleased with Dan's performance against Italy after returning from injury. France have an enormous pack of forwards and Dan will assist us in fronting up to that," said Wilson.
"France beat England last week which proves their ability as a team so we know it's going to be another tough encounter but another sell-out at Eirias will go some way to help us in our challenge.
"The crowds in North Wales have been awesome and you cannot underestimate how much of a boost a vocal home crowd is for the team, we're really delighted with the support that has been shown so we'd like to put on a good performance as a way of thanks."
