There were fireworks at Ynysybwl as six tries from fly half Matthew Nuttall. and a hat-trick from winger Dale Stuckey, helped the home side trounce bottom placed Tredegar 108-10. Elsewhere, it was 28-6 to Rhydyfelin as they brushed aside Merthyr and Rumney held off Penallta to win 17-10.
In Division 2 East, second place Senghenydd dominated visitors Rhymney and crossed over nine times in their 56-3 triumph, while Llanishen pulled no punches as they ran away as 76-26 home victors against Tylorstown. The try line also saw plenty of action at Llantwit Fardre, as Fleur de Lys left with a losing bonus point. Despite scoring five tries, they were defeated 57-31 in a busy encounter.
There was a surprise away win for Brynmawr in Division 3 East, as they battled hard away at Caerphilly to end the game as comfortable 44-23 victors. There was also a heartening result Croesyceiliog, who remain at the foot of the table but held on for a 22-19 win over Pontypool United.
It was all too easy for Ynysddu in Division 4 East, as yet another fine home performance by the second place side gave them a 62-3 drubbing over New Tredegar. They attempt to close the gap on leaders Cilfynydd, who narrowly defeated Caldicot 11-5 in a cagey affair at Longfellow Road.
