But Aled Thomas helped Bridgend extend their lead in the second-half. Steve Lewis again converted and, despite a Jordan Skidmore try and a Simon Evans penalty for Tata, the visitors held on for a priceless win.
The bottom-half battle between Tondu and Bonymaen ended in victory for the hosts at Pandy Park. They scored all the points in their 29-17 win in the first half, with David Griggs, Jon Humphries, Nick Hopson and Matthew Phillips all crossing the line for tries.
Gareth Powell converted two of the efforts and Paul Smithson added a drop goal. Beddau's poor run went on with a 23-19 defeat to Bargoed. The visitors ran riot in the first half with tries from Andrew MacLoughlin, Nicky Coughlin and Josh Prosser helping them to a commanding lead.
Prosser converted one of the tries and added a penalty to make it 23-0 at the break. Beddau roared back with tries from Dan Fox, Dai Francis and Jack Huntley, with Rhys Morgan adding a conversion, but they couldn't get another try to steal a win and remain one off the bottom of the table.
Llanharan edged out Newbridge thanks to a man of the match performance from Cody Rees. The outside half scored his side's only try, converted it and then added two penalties to cancel out Ben Shell's try for Newbridge.
Kieron Meek added five points with the boot through a conversion and a penalty to make it 13-10 at half-time. The second-half saw Llanharan hang on to their lead and frustrate Newbridge in a scoreless 40 minutes that gave the visitors the win.
