Blackwood dominated the first half, leading 24-5 at the break thanks to tries from Gareth Williams, Nathan Gittengs and Matthew McGovern. Lee Pearson scored a first half try for Bargoed.
Bargoed started stronger in the second half when Adam Coupe scored a try. They also scored a penalty try soon afterwards, converted by Josh Prosser. However, Blackwood sealed the win with their fourth try, giving them that all-important bonus point.
Meanwhile, Tata Steel has closed the gap on Bargoed after their 29-8 win over Llanharan. Mark Randall, Rob Earle and captain Gareth Edwards provided Tata with the goods. In the process of their victory, they overtake Cardiff Met.
Narberth remain in fifth place after beating Glamorgan Wanderers 18-12. Ollie Ryland and Jonny Morgan scored the tries for Narberth.
In the battle to avoid that dreading last spot, Pontypool had the upper-hand against Whitland in a 10-8 result. Whitland, who remain bottom of the table, took an early advantage with a try from Mark Jones. However, in the second half, Pontypool scored a penalty try, converted by Sam Mills which made the difference.
Newbridge lost their first match in four after losing at home to Bridgend Athletic, 19-10 while Bonymaen secured a 11-9 victory over Beddau.
