Only three games were played due to a clash with the Swalec Cup, but fourth place Newbridge made the most of their chance to close the gap on the three teams ahead of them in the table.
Tries from Ryan Lee, Dwain Dyer, Stuart Davies, Stephan Morgan and Jordan Richards, as well as four conversions from Neil Burnett, were enough to secure a comprehensive away win for Newbridge.
To compound a bad day for Pontypool the only team beneath them in the table, Whitland, picked up a losing bonus point in their Pembrokeshire derby defeat against Narberth, 19-13.
The students of Cardiff Met taught Bridgend Athletic a lesson with a 22-3 home win. The result leaves Cardiff Met in third position, 13 points off league leaders Ebbw Vale. Meanwhile, the Athletic remain in 10th place.
