Attack coach warns Aussies

Wales Attack Coach Nigel Davies speaks exclusively to www.wru.co.uk.
Wales Attack Coach Nigel Davies, speaking exclusively to wru.co.uk, has sounded a warning for Australia to get ready to face one of the best back lines in the business. He says that the Wales team boasts some exceptional runners who can pose serious threats if enough ball is secured.

He said: "The best form of defence is to hold on to the ball. Then we are very comfortable in that we have some fabulous runners in the backline."

Following the victory over Canada he praised his players for overcoming a bad patch during the game to create the sort of rugby which can dazzle the fans: "As soon as we started to play we put a lot of width into the game."

He reiterated how it is important for Wales to aim for a win against an Australia side he sees as favourites because of their place further up the table of the world's top ten sides. The coach explained that the selection process building to Rugby World Cup 2007 was compromised by the need to build the right squad for the tournament, but he said that from now on selection was about building the team into the tournament to deliver a winning Wales.

Nigel Davies has shared his thoughts on the Canada game, the Australia build-up and the behind-the-scenes preparations with the WRU website team.
