| Patrick Palmer of Llantrisant RFC has played a major part in the Blues regional age grade sides over the last couple of seasons and during 2006–2007 was a member of the winning U20 squad that defeated the Ospreys U20 in the U20 Reebok Regional Championships Final.
Palmer has previously played for Wales U18 and the 2006–2007 season saw him receive a call up to Wales U19 squad for the IRB U19 World Championships. Palmer made three appearances during the tournament in the Pool stage matches against New Zealand, Samoa and Argentina.
