Winger Leigh Halfpenny trained with Neath RFC during the 2006–2007 season and has enjoyed several years with the Ospreys age grade set up as a Reebok Regional Championships trophy winner in the 2005–2006 season with the Ospreys U18 age grade and on the losing end as the scorer of the Ospreys U20's sole penalty against the Blues U20 in last season's U20 Reebok Regional Championship Final.

Halfpenny took part in the 2005–2006 season's U18 Home Four Nations Championship and earned a call up to the Wales U19 squad during the 2006–2007 season for the U19 IRB World Championships in Belfast after impressing in the spring internationals.

Halfpenny enjoyed a successful tournament, starring in every match, and gaining one try against Argentina and a brace against Samoa in the Pool stages of the U19 competition. He finished the tournament on a total of 57 points scored for his country.

Halfpenny joined Cardiff RFC ahead of the 2007–2008 season. He will represent the Blues U20 in this season's Reebok Regional U20 Championship.
