Non Evans, the current Welsh Women's Rugby Union full back, has been selected to represent the World XV in two tests against the current World Champions, New Zealand, in October.

The internationals will take place in Auckland on October 4th and Whangerei on Oct 11th as curtain raisers to NPC matches.

New Zealand, commonly known as the 'Black Ferns', won the 2002 World Cup in Barcelona beating England 19-10 in the final.

Having returned to the Welsh squad following a season's absence, Evans won the WWRU Senior Player of the Year Award at the recent Awards Evening.

As Wales' top try and points scorer in last season's Six Nations, Evans' consistent form has warranted this exclusive selection for these tests.

Richard Hodges, WWRU Director of Rugby for Women and Girls commented "All at the WWRU agree that Non deserves her place in the squad as she is a huge plus to any side. It is nice to see that several other players were also close to selection and we are sure Non will represent Wales well in October."
