Neath could be without the services of two back-row forwards when the season begins next month.
Wales international flanker Brett Sinkinson could miss up to six weeks if he cannot recover from the knee surgery he underwent last month.
Nathan Bonner-Evans is another fighting against time to recover from a pelvic injury.
There is better news however of new signing Andy Newman, who collapsed during a training run on Aberavon beach.
Newman, a Wales A cap signed from Northampton, was taken by ambulance to Morriston Hospital but was released after treatment for dehydration.
