| Julie Paterson |
Head of Group Compliance Julie Paterson has been with the Welsh rugby Union since 1989. In her 18 years she has been involved in a number of areas of the business and now heads up Compliance. In 2005 the compliance department was established in order to implement an internal / external audit function for the business. Julie is responsible for, monitoring the progress of parties over terms of agreements made and measuring against contractual commitments. Screening performance and offering recourse for non-performance, whether it is on the rugby playing field or the non-delivery of contractual commitments under an event agreement is also part of Julie’s remit.
Julie is also accountable for Ticketing. This department is a large area of the business and has changed dramatically in the past few years and the department has been used as a benchmark for various ticketing initiatives across the entertainments industry. There is a direct association with the Department of Culture, Media and Sport as the Millennium Stadium is part of a working party set up to tackle black market ticket sales and the secondary market. Julie ensures the department works closely with Safety and Operations, the Police and relevant services on match days and has restructured the ticketing division into a sports and entertainments, recognising the need for specialist expertise in each area.
Julie also looks after Debentures, in total there are 19,800 debentures at the Millennium Stadium compared to 12,050 in 1999. From the year 2021, repayment of the debenture loans will commence. |
