Community Partners - Principality
Principality Building SocietyPrincipality Building Society - Principality Premiership Sponsor
With 51 branches across the length and breadth of Wales, Principality is the largest Welsh Building Society employing over 600 staff making them a major player in the Welsh economy.

As a mutual building society they are committed to benefiting their Members. With more branches in Wales than any other building society they are dedicated to serving local communities with a highly visible presence on the high street and a commitment to grass roots activities throughout Wales and the Borders.

Principality Building Society provided a massive boost for premier division rugby in Wales when it began sponsoring the domestic league tournament for a three year period at the start of the 2005-2006 season. Under the title of Principality Building Society Premiership, the fourteen leading semi-professional clubs in Wales go head-to-head on a weekly basis in a twenty-six match, highly competitive and intense tournament; vital for developing Wales's national game at the very top level.

Principality are a brand with a passion for sport, and as a company proud for its involvement with Welsh business and the community, the Welsh Rugby Union provided the perfect partnership in the wake of the launch of the Building Society's new corporate identity.

Principality has had a long association with rugby in Wales, most recently as the sponsor of the Principality Cup, now a sister tournament to the Principality Premiership as the semi-professional Konica Minolta Cup, prior to the restructuring of the game in Wales at the start of the 2003-2004 which lead to the creation of the Celtic League.

Fighting off stiff competition from the clubs in the Premiership, Neath defended their 2004-2005 Premiership Title in the 2005-2006 season and proudly raised the first ever Principality Premiership Trophy in April 2006.

Community Partner - Konica Minolta
Konica MinoltaKonica Minolta - Official Photocopier Supplier and National Cup Sponsor
In 2003 the Welsh Rugby Union unveiled Konica Minolta as their new sponsor expanding from their previous approved supplier status to include the National Domestic Cup competition (Konica Minolta Cup) until 2007.

Rugby in Wales has become more competitive than ever, with the exclusion of the regional clubs giving the other teams more to prove and the opportunity to chase the glory of a final in the competition at the Millennium Stadium.

The recent launch of the Konica Minolta brand in Wales proved to be an exciting and appropriate time to further their relationship with the WRU.

Community Partners - RAF
Royal Air ForceRoyal Air Force - Official Community Partner Junior Districts
The partnership between the RAF and Welsh Rugby Union provides support for over 15,000 rugby players between the ages of 12 and 16, spanning the length and breadth of Wales, who play in junior games each year. That’s a total of 224 clubs and 48 junior district teams.

As well as providing a range of goodies for the teams, the RAF will continue to host rugby festivals in North and South Wales and offer expert coaching and team development via a series of rugby clinics at its bases.

Air Commodore Cunnigham of the RAF said: "The RAF places great importance on sport and encourages Servicemen and women to reach their true potential. Rugby promotes teamwork, fitness and motivation – all key factors in this career.

“The sponsorship of junior rugby in Wales is helping to develop good sports people from a young age as well as providing important grass roots funding enabling future generations to continue playing rugby and to lead a fit and healthy lifestyle.”

Community Partner - Health Challenge Wales
Health Challenge WalesHealth Challenge Wales - Official Community Partner
The Welsh Rugby Union is proud to support Health Challenge Wales - the national focus for activities that promote health and well being. We recognise that a wide range of factors - economic, social and environmental - have an impact on our nation's health and well being. Action in all these areas can help create a healthier Wales.

Health Challenge Wales is a call to everyone – all people and organisations – to do as much as they can to improve health. It is a challenge to people as individuals to do what they can to improve their own health and the health of their family; to government, both national and local, to help create the conditions that are needed to help families lead a healthy life; and to organisations to do as much as they can to help their employees, their customers and the people who use their services to improve their health.

Creating better health in Wales is not something the Welsh Assembly or the NHS can do on their own. It is a job for all of us.
