The versatile Hallett initially started playing rugby at university because the netball team said she was too rough. She was inspired to play rugby by her nan who she vividly remembers screaming and yelling at the TV, too nervous to sit, too anxious to stand still during the halcyon days of the 70s. She grew up determined to make her nanny proud of her own rugby exploits.
