| The Clubs XV Regional Championship (formerly known as the Community Regional Championship during seasons 2005-2006 and 2006-2007) aims to provide players from the WRU National Leagues in Wales with a competitive environment surplus to that provided by their league club, showcasing the untapped talent within the community game and enabling certain players to make the step up to a higher level of performance.
The five team round robin tournament, which operates the same scoring system as the Magners League and the Rbk Regional Championships involves amateur sides representing each of the four Welsh regions - Blues, Dragons, Ospreys and Scarlets - plus the Gogledd representing North Wales. Players are selected from those teams in each region playing in the WRU National Leagues 1 to 5 and are 25 years of age or younger. The games, as with the Rbk Regional Championship will be played around club grounds within the geopgraphical boundary of each region.
As an incentive for professional performances on the field in the competition, the Championship feeds its best performers into the recently established Wales Clubs XV which represents Wales on a community level abroad and in tournaments against other international amateur XVs.
