The Dragons were unable to break down a determined Glasgow team in their first Magners League of the season.
DRAGONS 3 GLASGOW 9

Newport Gwent Dragons will have to settle for a losing bonus point after being beaten by the boot of Dan Parks at Rodney Parade on Friday evening.

The Warriors kicker scored all the points for his side as appauling condition ruined any chance of running rugby.

Dragons coach Paul Turner was honest in his assessment of the match, saying: "We have to take it on the chin, we were beaten by an efficient Glasgow side - they don't do a lot, but they do it well.

"We needed territory but they got the possession, Parks kicked us to death and it frustrated us.

"Our kicking game wasn't good enough, we panicked and we dropped a number of chances. We came up short, but I always said that this team would take some time to gel."

Man-of-the-match Dan Parks admitted that the weather had played a massive part in the nature of the match.

"The conditions were very heavy and very tough, but we knew that coming in - our boots were sodden in the warm-up.

"With all that water on top of the pitch it was difficult to play any sort of flamboyant rugby.

"We've always struggled down here and knew how tough it was going to be, so we're really happy with our defence and with the four points."
