| Sophie Bennett was appointed to the WWRU in September 2005 as National Academy Co-ordinator and maintains the position as the WWRU, under the guise of Women's Rugby, becomes a formal wing of the Welsh Rugby Union.
As part of a WRU project, part funded by Objective One European funding, Sophie oversees the rounded training programme that will see the Academy girls coached in all aspects of the game (both on and off the field) to reach the pinnacle of international rugby.
Sophie also oversees the running of the National Squads ensuring there is both a suitable structure and pathway in place for the continuation of the development of elite players.
