Andrew Bishop joined the Ospreys in 2005, making his debut against the now disbanded Border Reivers in February 2005. Bishop has previously played for Bridgend and Neath RFC, where he scored nine tries in the 2004–2005 season and gained the club's Young Player of the Year award.

Bishop was a mainstay of the Ospreys' team throughout the 2006–2007 season, making a staggering thirty appearances for the region over the year.

Bishop has represented Wales at U18, U19 and U21 levels; in 2005 he was part of the U21 Grand Slam winning side.

After enjoying a successful 2007–2008 season with the Ospreys, including a superb try-scoring appearance in the EDF Energy Cup Final at Twickenham, Bishop was a late call-up to Wales Coach Warren Gatland's squad for an intensive training week in Wexford, Ireland, in May 2008.
