The Principality Premiership rings in the New Year at the halfway point of the season with leaders Ebbw Vale three points clear and basement dwellers Llandovery three points adrift of their nearest rivals.
Meanwhile, the Black and Ambers were thrashing Bedwas 39-11 at Rodney Parade and will be keen to close the gap on top side Ebbw Vale with another win on Saturday.

Llandovery continue their relegation fight against a Pontypridd outfit that won 6-13 at Cardiff last time out. The Drovers are three points and one game adrift of Maesteg at the wrong end of the table while Simon King's Pontypridd look set to challenge for a top three finish if they can continue their recent run of form.

Second-from-bottom Maesteg take on third placed Llanelli in a game that promises to be full of drama. Both sides have had an extra week off thanks to last weekend's postponements and both still have everything to play for.

The Old Parish have a great chance of avoiding relegation if they can make use of their games in hand while the Scarlets can keep their title winning dreams alive if they can do likewise.

At the Gnoll, reigning champions Neath kick off the New Year against a Glamorgan Wanderers side who are steadily moving up the table. A 15-3 victory over Bridgend at the Memorial Ground last week sees the Wanderers four points clear of Llandovery at the foot of the table. The Wanderers will fancy their chances against a Welsh All Blacks outfit that has been very much off-colour this season.

In the weekend's other games Cardiff make the short trip west along the M4 to St Helens for their clash with local rivals Swansea and at Pandy Park Cross Keys go head to head with Bedwas.
