Cardiff Blues and Wales prop John Yapp has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
The twenty-three year old loose head ruptured his cruciate knee ligament during the New Year's Day 29-10 win over the Llanelli Scarlets at the Arms Park.

Yapp played in all five games of the victorious 2005 RBS Six Nations Grand Slam campaign, but has since struggled to cement his place in the Wales squad. His last appearance for Wales was in the 27-25 loss to Argentina in June 2006.

With fellow props Gethin Jenkins (finger) and Taufa'ao Filise (neck) injury doubts, Blues Coach Dai Young has drafted Rhys Gill and Scott Roberts from the Cardiff RFC side to the squad preparing for Saturday's Magners League game against Border Reivers.

The Blues have also lost lock James Goode for between five to eight weeks after he fractured his ankle against the Scarlets on Monday.
