Llanelli's Craig Richards knocked Ebbw Vale off the summit of the Principality Premiership, allowing his former club Newport to leapfrog their Gwent rivals.
The Steelmen led 13-9 at the break, before Richard's second-half score sealed a 17-13 win for the Scarlets, relegating Vale to second place.

Meanwhile, Newport scored three tries in their 25-21 victory over Neath at Rodney Parade. Luke Hathaway, Richard Dale and Michael Poole all crossed for the home side, and James Dixon weighed in with ten points from the boot as the Black and Ambers went top on try count.

Glamorgan Wanderers scored nine tries as they beat Llandovery 57-35 in a thrilling encounter. Nicky Roberts and Mark Roper both crossed twice for the Wanderers, as did outside half Gareth McCarthy, who ended the game with a personal haul of 22 points.

Tries from Richard Carter and Mike Harris set Aberavon on their way to a 21-12 win against Bedwas, while scores from Rhys Williams and Marcus Johnson gave Cross Keys a 15-11 win over Swansea.

Craig Evans booted 24 points in Cardiff's 31-19 victory at Maesteg, while Neil Burnett kicked three penalties as Pontypridd won 9-7 at Bridgend.
