The Division Four South-east title race was thrown wide open by Pontycymmer's top of the table victory over former leaders Fairwater 16-10.

Now the Cardiff-based club must win at Abercwmboi in the last game of the season on Friday to finish top on try count otherwise the Bridgend valley team will take the crown.

Pontycymmer produced a great effort at Ashcroft Park, though Fairwater outscored them 2-1 on tries with Richard Bilton and Mark Dickinson crossing.

In the East, bottom club St Joseph's were thrashed 87-17 at Chepstow. Robin Ostler led the way for the winners and Pontllanfraith scored a 14-5 win over

Ynysddu.

North champions Ruthin finished the season in style with a 24-6 success at Mold. Nant Conwy finish in second spot after their 34-10 win over Rhyl.

Loughor beat Fishguard 68-0 in West leaving them three points clear of Pembroke at the top of the division. The sides meet in the last game of the season on Friday at Loughor in a title decider.

In South West, Alltwen won 10-0 at Rhigos 10-0, they had needed ten more tries to pinch the title out of the clutches of Cwmgors, who thus finish as top dogs.
