Sidoli In Confident Mood

Wales forward Robert Sidoli is upbeat as the squad prepares for what is being billed as the Wooden Spoon decider. Speaking at an earlier press conference he said: 'We feel a lot more confident which is a big plus, we've got to have the right attitude for the game, so performance is even more important."

His performance against England caught the eye, Sidoli was voted man-of-match by wru.co.uk users and is widely regarded as a future lynch-pin in the Wales pack.

And Sidoli knows Wales have to get their attitude right if they are to record their first RBS Six Nations victory this season.

'They [Scotland] will come out full of passion like we did against England. We have just got to meet it and get our own game going.'

And fullback Rhys Williams is well aware of the challenge Scotland present.

'We're expecting a big clash against the Scottish pack, but we'll be looking to come out on top and give the backs a chance to score a few tries.'

'They drive the line-outs, they get a good platform at the scrums and they've got a very quick rucking game.'

But the confidence the squad gained with their performance against the World ranked number one side remains, and Sidoli is hoping Wales can get the crucial victory in Scotland.

'We had such a great start at Murrayfield two years ago, which is what we've got to do this year. We've got to be ready and firing when we get on the pitch," he said.

Meanwhile, it appears the shoulder strain suffered by Wales captain Jonathon Humphreys will not keep him out of action for the Scotland test.

A scan revealed no major damage -and his progress will be monitored over the next couple of days, but reports suggest the Bath man will be available for selection.

Steve Hansen names his team on Thursday.
