The Hanover Supporting Women's Rugby

The Hanover International Hotel in Cardiff Bay has just signed a major sponsorship deal with the Women's Welsh Rugby Union. The deal means that the National Women's Squad will stay at the Hotel throughout their Six Nations Campaign.

It is the first time the Women's team have had a home hotel for the Six Nations and coupled with their new home venue, The Cardiff Arms Park, it is hoped that the squad will have a real home advantage when they kick off their first game against Spain on the 15th February.

The squad will have full use of the Health and Fitness suite during their stays, which, with the quick succession of games, will be vital to recovery in time for their remaining fixtures.

The Welsh U19s are also benefiting from the deal, staying at the Hanover International in Hinckley, when they travel to Coventry to play England U19s on the 27th April.

The deal has been supported by Sportsmatch Cymru with pound-for-pound match funding, allowing the WWRU to employ a Development Officer in the East Wales area, to join the existing Officers in the North and West.

WWRU Administrator, Laura Oakes commented, "We are delighted that the Hanover have continued their support this season. The National squad stayed at the hotel last season and were impressed by the standard and quality of service they received. The Sportsmatch money is a great boost to the Union and will help the continual development of the Women's game across Wales."

Regional Manager of the Hanover, Gwyn Jones added, "The Hanover International Hotel and Club in Cardiff are proud to be supporting the Welsh Women's Rugby Union and we are looking forward to giving them our full support in their challenges over the next season, and indeed, beyond."
