"It was a good win for us," the backrower said. "We had about 14 boys unavailable and had to call in some second-team players and some guys out of retirement. At 1.30pm, we still hadn't picked a team.

"Then our main lineout winner Gareth Howells was stomped on in the first five minutes, so he had to go to hospital for 30 stitches to his head. It got a bit ill-tempered after that, and I'm proud of the guys for digging so deep to get the win."
