HORSMAN: "I'M WELSH NOW"

The 28-year-old signed for Worcester following the collapse of the Warriors last summer but was determined to commute from his home in Porthcawl. The tight-head therefore qualifies for Wales through residency after completing the required three-year stint.

And Horsman declared he would rather pull on the famous red jersey than the white of the English after turning down the offer to join the English Churchill Cup squad in June.

"I am Welsh now - I wouldn't play for England if they asked me and I want to play for Wales as soon and as often as I can," said Horsman. "It's a huge relief to have this qualification off my shoulders."

Horsman is likely to be included by Mike Ruddock in the squad for the Autumn Tests series against South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji in in November. And Wales team manager Alan Phillips will be glad to have a player with the passion and commitment of Horsman in the squad.

"Chris is a quality player and we look forward to welcoming him on board," said Phillips.
