| Although the home side scored tries through Christian Warner and Shane Jennings it was the boot of Shaun Connor and Matthew Jones, coupled with Jason Spice's trywhich saw the leaders take the points.
Their lead at the top is now 12 points after second placed Munster were toppled by the Cardiff Blues at the Arms Park on Saturday evening. Nick Robinson put his injury blighted season behind him to lead the Blues to the much needed win. He scored one of his side's three tries with Kort Schubert collecting the other two in the 30-20 win.
Leinster's defeat by the Ospreys has allowed the Dragons, who overcame the Borders on Friday night, to move up to third. The Dragons collected maximum points in the 42-15 win with Steve Winn scoring two of their five tries and Percy Montgomery kicking 17 points.
Friday night's other two games were both Irish - Scottish affairs and it was an Irish double with Ulster beating Glasgow and Connacht scoring a narrow win in Edinburgh. Test players Tommy Bowe, Tyrone Howe, Simon Best and Kevin Maggs all scored tries in the 30-3 Ulster win whilst veteran out half Eric Elwood was the hero for Connacht kicking the all-important late penalty to give them a 16-13 win at Murrayfield which keeps them a point ahead of Ulster as the third best placed Irish side.
