HEINEKEN WEEKEND BRINGS FUN TO CARDIFF
11 May 2006, 3:29 pm
By WRU
ERC, the Heineken Cup organisers, today announced a bumper weekend of entertainment to celebrate the 11th Heineken Cup final, between Biarritz Olympique and Munster, at the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff on Saturday 20 May (3.00 pm).
ERC have worked with the Cardiff '06 partners - the Millennium Stadium, WRU, Wales Tourist Board, Wales Assembly Government and Cardiff City Council - to create a European Festival of Rugby for the Heineken Cup final weekend. Cardiff will be buzzing for the weekend with highlights including a Continental Market and Water Ski Championship in Cardiff Bay and a European Street Festival in the City Centre.

Fans can watch Neil Jenkins and Robin McBryde put regional academy players through their paces at the Welsh Institute of Sport from 10.00 am on Saturday followed by the ERC / WRU Eurotag finals, featuring five teams of U8 from around Wales, demonstrating their skills from 12.15 pm. More details of the Cardiff 06 Heineken Cup final weekend are available on www.ercrugby.com and fans can also download a "Front Row" guide to some of Cardiff’s best hotspots to sample the European atmosphere. ERC and Cardiff City Council commissioned independent research from visiting rugby fans to Cardiff to compile the guide.
