8 May 2006, 4:02 pm
By WRU
Nant Conwy Youth will play Pontypool United Youth in the Youth League Final on Saturday May 13 at Llanidloes RFC, kick off 2.30pm.
The match will decide the WRU Youth League Champions for 2005/2006. Last Saturday, the best team from each of the four regions fought it out in the semi-finals, with Nant Conwy of the Scarlets region defeating last year’s National Youth Champions, Bonymaen Youth of the Ospreys region 13-10 in a hard fought contest while Pontypool United Youth of the Dragons region beat Rumney Youth of the Blues region, in another close contest, 16-8.

This season more than 150 Youth teams have played in the National Youth League, organised on a District and Regional basis in 24 Divisions. The League has offered regular competitive rugby to more than 4,000 young players aged between 16 years and 19 years.

Phil John, WRU National Community Rugby Manager said, “This competition has grown each year and is the bed-rock of community rugby in Wales, producing players who go on to play senior rugby throughout the Principality.”
