PEEL TO MISS POWERGEN FINAL

Despite the club's attempts to get Dwayne Peel back and ready for action ahead of Sunday’s match, a failure to complete a late fitness test at Stradey Park this morning has ruled the British Lion out of contention for the number 9 jersey.

But boosted by the inclusion of Skipper Simon Easterby, number 8 Alix Popham and full-back Barry Davies, who were all injury concerns earlier in the week, there’s no wonder we have our English counterparts looking a little worried.

Full back Lee Byrne has also failed to make fitness in time having suffered a dead leg in last weekend’s Celtic League win over the Ospreys, while prop Iestyn Thomas is rested having made his comeback from major neck surgery on Friday night. Martyn Madden replaces Iestyn on the bench, with Aled Gravelle by his side making his return from injury.
